Although he has already won a record seven Ballon d’Or awards, Argentinian pro soccer player Lionel Messi — who currently plays for the David Beckham-owned Inter Miami CF in Major League Soccer — is in the running to claim his eighth trophy this week. The Ballon d’Or (French for “The Golden Ball”) is soccer’s most prestigious award, which is given to its biggest stars and the 2023 edition is happening Monday.

If you want to catch “67th annual Ballon d’Or ceremony,” it will stream live from the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France on Paramount+ on Monday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT. Watch the awards ceremony for free, when you sign up for a 7-day free trial for Paramount+.

After the free trial is over, you can cancel the streaming service altogether, or you can keep watching Paramount+ for $5.99/month for the basic ad-supported plan. If you want to go ad-free, it’s priced at $11.99/month. This plan includes programming from Showtime at no additional cost.

Meanwhile, Paramount+ is the streaming home to live soccer matches in the United States from global leagues, including UEFA Champions League, National Women’s Soccer League, AFC Champions League, Argentina Liga Profesional de Fútbol, Scottish Professional Football League and more.

Put on by the French news magazine “France Football,” the Ballon d’Or is given to the top men’s and women’s soccer players in the world. Think of it as the NBA MVP Award (The Michael Jordan Trophy) and WNBA MVP Award, but for world soccer.

The top 100 journalists who cover men’s soccer, as well as the top 50 journalists who cover women’s soccer, from FIFA’s (International Federation of Association Football) world nation rankings will vote for their favorite players in individual performance, team performance and fair play categories. Check out a complete list of the Ballon d’Or men’s and women’s nominees here.

In addition, the other awards given during the ceremony will be Ballon d’Or Féminin (Women’s Golden Ball), Trophée Kopa (Best Young Player), Trophée Yachine (Best Goalkeeper), Trophée Muller (Best Striker) and Trophée Socrates (Personality of the Year). Meanwhile, Men’s Club of the Year and Women’s Club of the Year awards will also be presented.

Livestream “The 67th annual Ballon d’Or ceremony” online free through Paramount+ on Monday, Oct. 30.
